Blind CVs, a measure in favor of diversity.

If you work in Human Resources, you have probably asked yourself this question repeatedly, Is gender, residence, or age really more relevant than my candidate's professional experience?  Or perhaps as an internal customer, you have been more influenced by these factors when selecting a new member for your team.

I'd like to tell you a little more about this topic, which, although not widely discussed in Mexico, seems to be gaining popularity. Blind CVs are a measure implemented primarily in European countries in late 2006, where, even within their equality policies, a clause was added stating that the candidate's CV information must be presented anonymously, eliminating personal details such as name, gender, age, place of residence, and including a photograph.

This new type of resume aims to focus solely on what is most relevant when applying for a new job: the candidate's skills and competencies. Furthermore, using this document anonymously favors the hiring of women, older adults, immigrants, or members of minority groups.

Due to the diversity of personnel within our company, high-performance work teams are beginning to form, since sharing with people of different cultures, ages, professions and even preferences enriches and strengthens knowledge when discussing different ideas and experiences to solve a problem.

In the theory of knowledgemanagementIt is argued that knowledge is a human act based on the interpretation of information in order to act at a given moment, and therefore resides fundamentally in people and is enriched the more it is shared. Thus, working in an inclusive environment with a diverse workforce will contribute to achieving the organization's objectives.

At GDI, we've improved our recruitment and selection strategies by focusing solely on candidates' competencies from the very first interview. This fosters a better work environment and organizational culture within our company. Would you like to work with us? At GDI, we're all about extraordinary effort and are always looking to work with the best people. Contact us!
